Some From Ecuador At The Park
So on our second day there we went to a local park to play some music, have children’s activities, and put on a drama. The team from Camp Chacauco is really amazing. They are well prepared and do such a great job serving their community and country.
So here are a few shots that I really like. The shot above is a boy that was standing in front of one of the plywood props that the team made for a puppet show. This look sums up the feeling that I got as we moved into the park. People weren’t quite sure what to make of us. Some were more open than others but most were a little stand-offish. I never realized that being 6’5″, 220lbs would be such an issue in Ecuador. I think I scared some of the kids.
So anyway here is another little guy checking us out.
Here are my friends Yonid (left) and Fredy (right). They work with Steve, the missionary there in Ecuador. Excellent musicians and generally funny guys. We had a blast traveling around by bus playing guitars and singing as we went. The language barrier was. . .interesting. But Yonid knew Led Zepplin so we were good.
And here is one of my favorites. This little guy is the son of our bus driver. Forgive me for not remembering your name. If anyone reads this (that’s a stretch) and remembers his name, please let me know so that I can add it. I took many photos of him playing with his children. I will probably include them at some point. Definitely someone I can relate to. So here is his awesome son.
I really dig this post-processing treatment. It is aged photograph that comes with Lightroom. It fits these memories for me.

Ecuador because is such a diverse country. The weather, the colonial cities and the people are just fantastic. Nothing compares to the landscapes of the Highlands, the lush of the Amazon Jungle Forest, the exotic Beaches of the Coast and the mystery of the Galapagos Islands.
You should be winning awards for ALL of the photos on here! They are amazing!! You have definitely found another talent!

Zane, thanks. It is hard to remember to focus on the eyes. Especially in this type of environment where I am just shooting away at a crowd of people. I don’t know about you but I only use the center AF point. That way I know exactly what I am focusing on. It might not be as important if you were working stopped down a little bit. But I am typically running wide open so if the AF doesn’t pick eyes then it isn’t right.
I usually shoot in the center AF point unless I’m working on a macro picture. I’m really interested in shooting with a tilt shift lens (Lensbaby) and trying some time lapse tilt shift things.
